I registered and joined this group just so I could say thank you for this. It was getting incredibly frustrating having to hit the little 'run this time' button every time I tried to load a page with flash in it. I even switched to Safari for a whole ten minute before I came googling for a Chrome fix. I'm in the same boat as everyone else, running OSX 10.5.x on an older iMac that I just don't want to upgrade. It's been running like a beast for almost 4 years now and is still nearly as fast as my new macbook pro. But I digress, thanks for taking the time to write up this tutorial and know it's not going unappreciated. Todd Luger 27/9/2012, 3:42 น.

Really appreciate you posting this, but it doesn't seem worth the hassle. I had just recently switched to Chrome because Firefox was consuming so much CPU and memory. Really liked the speed though I had any number of functionality issues on sites with videos or forms. However, I don't even want to support google anymore if they don't support me. I have heard horror stories about upgrading old MBPs past 10.5 so I am not going there. Back to Firefox or maybe I'll see how the latest Safari runs. Levity03 27/9/2012, 6:28 น.

Indeed Bottle Imp, he was probably missing do shell script. The other night some others were running into the same problem. I understand it isn't clear to everyone, hence the screen shots. Personally, I'll probably end up biting the bullet soon enough and upgrading past Leopard. But, for now I just want Chrome to work.

This might seem like an overly complex fix, but that has more to do with the way Mac apps are launched than anything else. In Windows it's as simple at Right Click, properties and adding --allow-outdated-plugins after the file path. Nora Chang 27/9/2012, 16:48 น. If any of you want to be snazzy and change the icon for your newly created script, it is pretty easy!

Right-click on your newly created script and choose 'Get Info'. Now go to your Applications folder and do the same for Google Chrome.' You should have two info windows open now.the Script one and the Chrome one. Now grab the LARGE Chrome icon in the MIDDLE of its info window, and drag it up onto the SMALL Script icon at the TOP of the Script window. If you did it correctly, the icon will change.

Model railroad-specific layout design CAD software avoids many of these issues. 3rdPlanIt and CADRail are probably the most popular for Windows, but nearly all the programs offer a free trial copy with varying degrees of functionality. Model train software for mac Further, if you are not careful in the creation of templates it can be easy to place commercial track components in unbuildable configurations, such as turnouts too close to one another. But it will take some time to evaluate multiple packages. If you are serious about buying a CAD system, that's doubtless the best way to go.

Close the info windows. Drag your Chrome Script icon to your Applications folder (or where ever you would like to keep it.) Then drag it into your Launcher! Delete old Chrome Icon! LeylaG 28/9/2012, 12:01 น.

JohnMH, I have tried to follow your steps and do exactly as you have stated. When I run the new script from the applications folder I get the following message: Unable to read the file because the script is not editable (it was saved as run-only). I click ok and then get the msg: The document “ChromeScript” could not be opened. I believe that I have followed your screen shot in step3. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you for putting this out and you assistance.

JonMH 30/9/2012, 3:15 น. Lucy Wang, that is really odd.

Miss-Epiphany had the same issue and I'm not sure if she was able to get it to work. My first suggestion is to make sure you include the 'do shell script' from step 2 (see screen shot of step 2 to make sure your Script Editor window matches mine before saving). If that doesn't work, make sure you also have the original 'Google Chrome' app in your Applications folder as a loose file (as opposed to inside a folder). How to repair ms excel 2011 for mac mac.

Lastly, you can try rebooting your computer and then attempting to open ChromeScript again, that worked for someone with a similar issue. If none of that helps, can you please post a screen shot of your Script Editor window before you get to step 3? Cedric F 30/9/2012, 6:18 น. Hey Jon, thanks for sharing this information, but for some reason when I go to Script Editor, it doesn't let me do 'Make New AppleScript'. It's just in the grey. Do you know how can fix this?
