This article was created to help troubleshoot hanging crashing and not responding issues while using Excel. There are several methods to try to stop the application from crashing. The Quicken program is not responding. Window says it has stopped working properly. Is it a virus, or do I need to - Answered by a verified Tech Support Rep. I just purchased Quicken Starter Edition 2012 to replace my Quicken 2006. I do not use online banking.

This is a problem you need to address with Quicken support. These forums don't provide support for third-party products. I appreciate that.but I think it is not unreasonable to ask in this forum if people with the same setup (Mac Pro, Raid etc) are able to run it. From this I could reasonable conclude, perhaps that the file I am bringing in may in some way be defective.

The fact that a software application doesn't work has nothing to do with having it on a RAID or not. In fact, this is helpful information.

Quicken not responding windows 10

I'm tempted to find something else. When doing a backup, I've learned, and keep forgetting, that Quick Data does NOT get included or backed up reliably. It doesn't show it was modified recently. It has that weird 'folder/package' format. It gets skipped. And I find that my system restore now has an older version. It is horrible.

I think part of the blame was 'just use Carbon' when writing to make the transition easy (for OS 9 backward compatibility) but was also short-sighted and more of a problem in the long term. And later, that we 'need' native Cocoa apps. It keeps changing. There was not a clear message or path. At work, they were always interested in the 'quick fix' now, and 'maybe we'll go back later' (there was never time) and in the haste of the newest 'crisis' that was always occurring. Stitch in time saves nine.

I have friends that have to keep 'reinventing the wheel' to stay current and compatible. It is costly. And takes time away from building a better mousetrap. Well, the problem has not yet been solved.and I am not sure what is going on.

Firstly, wrote a little App that looked at each bundle and I thought I had discovered what the issue was. PkgInfo's creator code was '????'

And on a new file I had just created in Quicken it was 'INTU'.so changed that but this did not resolve the issue. Still got Quicken getting hung on opening with Activity monitor showing the Quicken was 'not responding'. Then I went back and retrieved my data file ( I have Retrospect) but found that the same thing happened with the retrieved data. This is really puzzling. I have reinstalled quicken, tried to open the retrieved file without installing the new updates/after installing the new updates.so the whole thing is rather confusing to me.

Bottom line is I need to retrieve this and make it work as I have years of data on them. How did you copy the file over in the first place. Can you network the two computers together and try to open the file by running quicken on your MP and access the data file from the G4? Initially just moved the data using ChronoSync. But then I have tried simply using the finder (on the MacPro) and booting the laptop in f/w mode with the 2 machines linked with a f/w cable. Have also tried to simply open the data from the Mac Pro as suggested. I have begun to wonder if the last saved version of Quicken somehow got corrupted and I was unaware of this.

Mac

Taday.again.will have a go at it.but thanks for taking the time to answer. Gitlab docker for python mac. Mac Pro Mac OS X (10.4.8).

Well, I am going to have to go back and look at all my modified ( hence saved) data files.( see below). FWIW, Retrospect seems to have picked up when the bundle was modified.or at least I hope so.
