'Hi Everybody, I can't run SAPGUI 7.40 on yosemite. This is what I get, hope someone can help me! Thank you so much. Good Day That 'connection to partner broken' is a network issue.

It's probably not SAP-related. Is it just the one PC that does that, or multiple PCs? Review the use of SAP tool 'NIPING' for network diagnosis: If you happen to be lucky and your network support folks are good, you may just be able to complain to them and they may be able to fix it with nothing more than a 'traceroute' from you. Your earlier error 'hostname unknown' was configuration related but I guess you figured that out. Hi Roberto, This looks like a network transport issue. Java.lang.Exception: Error: connection to partner '10.209.10.147:3620' broken The above line from the diagnostic you sent looks to me like a warning about packet loss between your workstation and the SAP server. If you ping the server 10.209.10.147 are you seeing drops in the connection?

Better yet, if you have a network engineer, have them log into the switch you're connected to and check if there are errors on the interface your workstation is connected to. The network person should be able to troubleshoot the issue for you and advise where the packet loss (layer 3 ISO) or frame drops (layer 2 ISO) are occurring and come up with a solution. There could be many things causing the problem, or even more than one issue at once.

But the simplest thing you could do is get another MAC, load an early version of MACOS, load the SAP client, and then connect that fresh install to the network cable your using when you get a problem. If the problem goes away it could be related to your MAC and Yosemite, in that case try looking in the operating system logs to see if there are any diagnostic errors reported in /var/adm/log. If the problem is still occurring on anther MAC connected to the same network cable, maybe you have a bad network patch cable. It could be caused by lots of things, but start off with some simple diagnostic steps and eliminate the potential causes one at a time until you find the step in the chain causing your issue.
