I have a 2008 MS Word for Mac and for some reason I do not understand, suddenly I have those weird paragraph marks appearing on every line. In previous versions of Word, I think there was somewhere in the visible tool bar an image of that actual 'backwards P' paragraph symbol that one could uncheck to hide. I have nothing like that on this version. HOW DO I MAKE IT GO AWAY (and never come back again)? Please, I need explicitly clear direction - no excessive techno-speak terminology. In Word for Windows, on the Home tab, in the Paragraph group, click the paragraph icon. In Word for Mac OS X, click the paragraph icon in the Standard toolbar. If you don't see the icon, from the View menu, choose Toolbars, and then check Standard.

On Standard Tool bar click on the Button with ¶ symbol. This turns Hidden Characters (such as ¶) off or turn them on. They can't be turned off permanently. But are hidden or revealed as needed. If you don't have standard tool bar showing go to: Man Menu > View Menu >Garmin usb drivers for windows 7. Toolbars when Box opens put check box next to standard and Format Menu bar. Its recommended to keep these on and active all the time. (saves a Lot of time.) the above instructions applies not only 2011 but 2008 as well.

Add or Remove Paragraph Spacing The quickest way to add a space between paragraphs is via the ‘Paragraph’ section of the ‘Home’ tab on the main ribbon in Microsoft Word. To do this: • Highlight the text you want to format • Go to Home > Paragraph on the main ribbon Finding the menu. • Click the ‘Line and Paragraph Spacing’ menu • Select ‘Add Space Before Paragraph’ or ‘Add Space After Paragraph’ Adding and removing paragraph spacing. This will automatically add a space in the position selected. Usually, you’ll want to add a space after paragraphs. But you can use spacing before a paragraph in some cases, like, if you want to distinguish it from the surrounding text.

If there is already spacing applied to the highlighted text, the menu will say ‘Remove’ instead of ‘Add’. This can be used to quickly remove formatting from a passage of text. Custom Spacing Options If you’re looking for more control over your paragraph spacing, you have two main options. One is to go to the ‘Paragraph’ tab in the ‘Layout’ tab.
