I've heard Apple will be going back to making their own monitor slated for next year, probably around the same time the modular Mac Pro comes out. Might be a long wait, who knows, so right now the 27' LG monitor is probably your best bet - but make sure you avoid the 21.5' version, while it has 4 USB-C ports, 3 of them are at USB 2.0 speeds, which is ridiculous.

So, here we list a veriety of information about routers that have been released by Apple. Some experts as well as Mac owners, who use both Macs and PCs and use them frequently, say that the best wireless router 2017 you can consider is Apple AirPort Extreme. The simplest way to determine the 802.11 protocol of a network is to reveal the hidden advanced wi-fi details from within the wireless menu in Mac OS, where you will find band PHY mode and other information. The following tips work the same on virtually every vaguely modern version of Mac OS and Mac OS X.

Hardly anybody understands that USB-C =/= USB3 or Thunderbolt, so I've had a lot of misinformation from people in the Apple Store about that sort of thing. The USB-C connection seems to solve a lot of problems, but it brings in a fuckload of fragmentation too. It becomes confusing when you can't tell what devices will work at what speeds just based on the connector.

Does this plug do displayport, thunderbolt 3, usb 3.2? What mode will it work in with a given device?

The cables add more confusion because some cables with USB-C connectors on both end won't work for Thunderbolt 3 and some won't work for USB 3 and some won't handle power delivery for charging laptops, etc. With previous USB standards there was generally well-defined fallback modes for hosts and devices but there are cases with USB-C/Thunderbolt3 devices where they just won't work at all with some combinations of host/cable/device. So I use a display port to type-c adaptor into my MacBook. I tried to piggyback it on to my dock but it didn't have the juice, captain.

I will definitely do an EtreCheck. As soon as you tell me what it is. This is my first Apple computer since a Macintosh Performa in the 90's. I do tech support for a living and am a quick learner, so tell me what I have to do.

EDIT: my dock has an HDMI port, so I can test my monitor with that if you'd like. From what I've read, display port is better due to higher Hertz. Not sure though - Mac Rookie. And I should also add that I have a second 4k monitor plugged in as well. Thanks for responding EtreCheck is a software that was developed by an active user on the Apple Mac Forums. He developed it so that people could provide scans of their system when they were looking for some help. It doesnt scan anything private - it just looks at CPU/Ram usage, peripherals that are connected, and gives an overall summary of how your mac is performing.

Just google EtreCheck, itll be the first link - no viruses/adware/malware etc. So, i have a 2017 nTB 16gb/256gb and I connect it to a 1080p external. Often times, my MBP will get super laggy - out of no where.

Look at the web address when you access the account on your computer. If the HSA account is with Fidelity Investments, add the HSA account selecting the correct financial institution for where it is kept. Merchant account that works with quickbooks

I could be doing the same thing all day (studying with PowerPoint lectures and whatnot), and 6 hours in I'll get hit with this lag spike thatll make everything feel choppy. All the animations feel horrible and its super slow.

Activity monitor and EtreCheck would show 40%+ CPU usage of kernel task. And its really irritating. I've done NVRAM/SMC resets, reformatted - nothings fixed it. Wow, so this tool is pretty cool. I actually think it helped me notice something.

Is it only pushing 1080p per monitor? That sucks if so. I forgot one is hooked up via VGA so I'm swapping that to HDMI and going again.

EtreCheck version: 3.4.6 (460) Report generated 2017-11-20 20:54:11 Download EtreCheck from Runtime: 2:14 Performance: Excellent Click the [Lookup] links for more information from Apple Support Communities. Click the [Details] links for more information about that line. Click the [Clean up] link to delete unused files. Ironically I was looking for this question again today. And found this thread on Google and saw my original comment.

And now a reply. Short cut command to find in excel for mac. I still have no answer. I keep seeing people with problems which makes me gun shy.

I know the ones Apple sells work but I simply don’t need such a good product. It seems if you want something lower end, there’s no USB C and you need a dock.

And you’re back into the same game, will the dock work. Maybe I’ll just suck it up and buy the $900 (Canadian) 4K from Apple and just be done with it. But it’s only 21.5”.:( • • • • •.

I have the LG 4K and it's an excellent monitor. Beautiful picture with lots of brightness.

Best Router 2017 To Work With Osx

Convenient to have one cable that delivers power and video. And the monitor has 3 additional USB C ports which work very well. I have an external USB C drive for Time Machine and an Apple Ethernet adapter. I would also plug my USB C hub into the monitor but it has a very short cable and can't reach the table so I plug it into my tbMBP 13' 2016. As a bonus the LG 4K also has adequate speakers which of course are feed from the USB C cable connected to the MBP. So drop my MBP on the table, plug in 2 cables and in 5 seconds I'm ready to go.
