Desktop alert settings outlook 2016 for mac for selected senders list

Windows 10 setups new Mail app as the default e-mail client. It can be annoying to click an e-mail (MAILTO) link on the webpage and to bounce into the new UI. Here is how to change the default e-mail client to a different desktop e-mail program like Outlook.

Will a wd my passport for mac work on pc. I have been trying to get notifications on my Windows 10 computer for Outlook 2016. It won't show alerts for meetings or emails I receive.

For

I have turned on the setting within Outlook by going to file->options->mail->Message arrival and made sure 'Display a Desktop Alert' is selected. I have also went into Windows 10 and went to notification settings and made sure the options were selected to display an alert. I have even went a step further by creating a rule to show a desktop notification for every email sent to me. I have checked a couple of other computers and they all seem to have similar settings that work for displaying messages. Any help would be appreciated so the employees at my company having this problem can get the proper notifications and not miss meetings. Thanks, Cvhuffman. Thank you for the update.

Generally, if you already have the 'Display a Desktop Alert' option enabled in Outlook, it's more likely that the issue lies with the Windows side since Outlook new mail notification is based on the Windows notifications. Moreover, 'I have even went a step further by creating a rule to show a desktop notification for every email sent to me' - this also prove that I might be right. I notice if I enabled notifications in Windows 10 notifications settings for Outlook 2016 app, I don't get notified of new emails. The reason was because a while back I turned off notification on Windows 10 Microsoft Mail app, it turned off notification in Outlook 2016 app as well. The reason I turned off notifications on Microsoft Mail app was I was getting two notification for each new email: one from Mail app and another from Outlook 2016. I turned off notifications for Microsoft Mail app and thought I would leave the notification for Outlook 2016 ON.

Turns out I had your scenario: Outlook 2016 notifications also got turned off as well. See below for pix on where the MS Mail app. Hope this helps. Regards SS Sarbjit Gill.
