I have a Macbook (new in 2012). My Outlook continues to freeze for long periods of time, making it unusable. I use it for a Microsoft Exchange account for work. Outlook 2011 for mac keeps freezing for long periods of time. And then click the Outlook icon in the dock. The Microsoft Database Utility will open.

It's possible the SPOD isn't being caused by the suspected app, but by another app or daemon that may be running in the background. You can usually tell if a specific app, such as Safari, is causing the slowdown by bringing another app to the foreground.

If the spinning pinwheel or beachball cursor goes away but returns when you bring the Safari app back to the front, then it's likely Safari that is having an issue. But if the SPOD continues when you switch to another app, then another app is causing the problem.

Outlook for mac auto archive. I don’t think it is a case of applying a better type of lipstick on a pig (a difficult task if you contemplate what actually has to be done to make the lipstick stick on the pig). Leaving protocols aside, the good news is that the new Outlook for Mac looks much better than the 2011 version. Or so the urban myth goes. After all, MAPI has been around for so long that EWS must still miss some MAPI features that it has to implement.
